Ever since I can remember, I've always dreamed of going to Paris. I have always admired French art - whether it was in the form of a sculpture or a film. For summer break, I had sometime in between work to travel, and what better place to go to than Paris. We spent two weeks total in France. One week was spent in Paris and the other week was spent in Saint Tropez.

Before traveling, I wanted to make sure I saw the famous destinations as well as some hidden gems. I read countless of travel blogs and jotted down recommendations from family and friends. I will say, between the jet lag and the food comas that bread can put you in, there never seemed to be enough time spent in Paris. There are countless of things to do and more ways to fall more in love with the city than you were before. I can tell you without a doubt, these were two of the best weeks of my life.

Below I have curated my 'go to' recommendations when visiting Paris, as well as some photos I took in between croissant eating. There are so many more things to do than just this list but these are some of the things we did do and loved.

RECOMMENDATIONS WHILE IN

PARIS, FRANCE

  • Visit the Louvre and Musee D'Orsay. Find the tiny cafe in the Louvre with a balcony.
  • Take a cooking class. We took a class on a boat on the Siene River with Lenôtre.
  • See the Notre Dame and Saint Cathedral.
  • Spend an afternoon in Montemarte. From the stunning Sacré-Couer to the restaurants and street artists, this is the perfect place for a classic Parisian evening.
  • Browse the art vendors on artists street. This is nearby the Notre Dame. It's a great place to pick up some vintage maps of France or postcards to send to friends.
  • Visit some famous Parisian gardens. They are located all around the city.
  • Have dinner on or near the Siene River. This was one of my favorite things we did. We got drinks and appetizers on a boat bar near the Eiffel Tower as the sun was setting.
  • Have breakfast at Carette.
  • Buy a classic French perfume. This is the perfect gift to someone or yourself. A little bottle to take home and always remember Paris.
  • Eat macaroons from Ladurée.
  • If you have enough time spend a day or night in the South of France.
